Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 15, 2026
Last updated: October 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how WIK (“WIK”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you use WIK's mobile applications, websites and related services (collectively, the “Service”). It also explains the choices and rights available to you.
WIK is responsible for the personal data described in this Policy, except where another party is identified as independently responsible.
1. Information we collect
Account and profile information
We may collect your name, username, email address, date of birth, gender, country, city, profile photo, biography, links, user identifier, login and authentication information, account settings and subscription entitlement. If you sign in through Google, Apple or another provider, we receive the account information that provider shares with us according to your settings.
Content and community activity
We collect content and activity you choose to create or submit, such as notes, posts, short videos, images, audio, documents, comments, reactions, follows, saved items, goals, tasks, searches, viewing or learning history, support requests, reports, appeals and moderation interactions. Public profile information and public content can be viewed by other users and may be visible outside WIK depending on the feature and your settings.
Messages, voice messages and calls
We process direct-message content, attachments and voice messages so they can be delivered, synchronized, secured and moderated. For audio and video calls, we process call participants, timestamps, duration, connection and quality information, and audio or video streams in real time as needed to connect and provide the call. WIK does not record or store the audio or video content of calls. We do retain call-history metadata, such as the participants, call type, status, start and end times, and duration.
AI-assisted features
When you use AI features, we process your prompts, uploaded context, generated responses, feedback and reports. Do not include confidential information or another person's personal data unless you are authorized to do so.
Device, network and usage information
We may automatically collect device model, operating-system and app version, language, locale, time zone, IP address, network information, push-notification token, device or app installation identifiers, referring pages, feature usage, event timestamps, diagnostics, crash logs and performance information.
Camera, microphone, photos, files, location and notifications
With your device permission, WIK may access:
- the camera and microphone to create content, send voice messages and make audio or video calls;
- photos or files you select for upload;
- approximate or precise foreground location to suggest or confirm country and city; and
- notification capability and a push token to deliver alerts, messages and call notifications.
Some devices may use Bluetooth or nearby-device access to route call audio to a connected headset. You can change permissions in your device settings, but the related feature may then be unavailable. WIK does not require background location access for its current location feature.
Transaction information
If you use a paid feature, we may receive purchase status, product, subscription, currency, price, transaction identifier and billing-event information from the relevant app store or payment provider. We do not receive your full payment-card number when payment is handled by those providers.
Information from other people and sources
We may receive information when another user interacts with you, mentions you, shares content with you, uploads content containing your information or reports a concern. We may also receive information from authentication, security, analytics, communication, hosting and payment providers as needed to operate the Service.
2. How we use information
We use personal data to:
- create, authenticate and manage accounts;
- provide profiles, feeds, learning tools, uploads, messages, calls, notifications, goals and AI features;
- personalize content, language, recommendations and user experience;
- process transactions and manage subscription entitlements;
- respond to support requests, reports, appeals and feedback;
- detect spam, fraud, abuse, security threats and violations of our Terms;
- protect children and other users and make legally required reports;
- measure, troubleshoot, maintain and improve reliability and performance;
- communicate service, security, policy and account updates;
- comply with law and enforce our agreements; and
- establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
3. Legal bases
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process personal data as needed to perform our contract with you; based on your consent, which you may withdraw; to comply with legal obligations; and for legitimate interests such as operating and improving WIK, securing the Service, preventing abuse and protecting users. We balance those interests against your rights. Where we use consent, withdrawing it does not affect processing already carried out.
4. How we share information
With other users and the public
We share profile information, public content and interactions according to the feature and your settings. Messages and call information are shared with the people participating in that conversation or call. People who can see content may save, copy, record or reshare it outside WIK.
With service providers
We may share information with vendors that provide cloud hosting, databases, content delivery and storage, authentication, push notifications, analytics, crash reporting, customer support, safety and moderation, AI processing, communications and call connectivity, and payment or subscription services. They may process data only for contracted purposes and must give it the same or equal protection as this Policy.
For legal, safety and security reasons
We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law or valid legal process; needed to investigate fraud, security issues, child exploitation or other harmful conduct; necessary to protect rights, safety or property; or required to enforce our Terms.
Business transfers
Personal data may be disclosed as part of a proposed or completed merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, insolvency or sale of assets, subject to applicable confidentiality and data-protection requirements.
With your direction
We may share information when you ask us to, connect a third-party service or otherwise give consent.
Sale and targeted advertising
WIK does not sell personal data and does not share personal data for targeted advertising. WIK does not currently display third-party advertising in the Service.
We may share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify you, subject to applicable law.
5. International data transfers
WIK and its providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, we use recognized transfer mechanisms and safeguards designed to protect personal data. You may contact contact@wiklearn.com for more information about applicable safeguards.
6. Data retention
We retain personal data only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the Service, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, meeting legal obligations, maintaining security and preventing abuse. Our current retention approach is:
- Account and profile data: kept while the account is active. After verified account deletion, WIK immediately deactivates the account, removes or replaces direct account and profile identifiers, disconnects social sign-ins, revokes sessions, removes push tokens, and schedules profile and cover images for deletion. A restricted, non-identifying tombstone remains only long enough to complete the permanent deletion from active systems described below.
- Notifications: read notifications are normally deleted after 90 days and unread notifications after 365 days.
- User Content and uploaded media: normally kept while your account is active or until you delete the relevant content. After verified account deletion, public content is hidden immediately and permanently deleted from WIK's active systems within 30 days.
- Messages: your account loses access immediately. Existing conversations may temporarily show your previous messages to their other participant under the generic name “WIK User” and a neutral avatar while deletion is processed. Those messages and their uploaded media are permanently deleted from WIK's active systems within 30 days.
- Call history: WIK does not retain call audio or video. Call-history metadata is normally kept while your account is active and is permanently deleted from WIK's active systems within 30 days after verified account deletion.
- AI prompts, responses, feedback and conversation records: normally kept while your account is active or until you delete them. They are permanently deleted from WIK's active systems within 30 days after verified account deletion.
- Reports, safety, fraud and security records: account-linked records are deleted or de-identified within 30 days after verified account deletion. Limited de-identified records may be retained where reasonably necessary to prevent abuse, protect users, comply with law or establish or defend legal claims.
- Transaction and legal records: deleted from WIK's active systems within 30 days after verified account deletion unless a record must be retained for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution or another legal obligation. Any required record is restricted and retained only for the applicable legal period.
- Backups: residual copies may remain in protected disaster recovery backups for up to 90 days after deletion begins. Backup copies are not available through the Service and are deleted through the normal backup rotation unless they must be preserved for a legal hold.
Retention may be extended when required by law, a valid legal hold, safety or fraud prevention, or an unresolved dispute. We may retain de-identified data that can no longer reasonably identify you.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, loss or misuse will never occur. Keep your credentials private and contact contact@wiklearn.com if you believe your account or data has been compromised.
8. Your choices and controls
- Update available profile and account information in WIK.
- Choose what you publish and use available audience or visibility controls.
- Block users and report users, content or AI responses.
- Manage camera, microphone, location, photo, file and notification permissions in device settings.
- Use unsubscribe or preference controls for optional communications, where offered.
- Request account deletion as described below.
Service and security communications may still be sent when necessary to operate your account.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal data; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent; opt out of certain sharing; and complain to a data-protection authority. These rights may be subject to legal exceptions.
To make a request, contact contact@wiklearn.com. We may need to verify your identity and authority before completing the request. You may use an authorized agent where applicable law permits. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
10. Account deletion
You can request deletion inside WIK through the account settings or by using our public deletion page at https://wiklearn.com/delete-account. We may ask you to verify account ownership before deletion.
After you verify the deletion request, your WIK account becomes inaccessible, your direct profile and login identifiers are removed or replaced, and your sessions are revoked immediately. The request is irreversible. WIK permanently deletes the account and associated data from active systems within 30 days. Residual copies may take up to 90 days to leave protected disaster recovery backups. Limited records may be retained only for the legal, security and fraud-prevention reasons described above.
Content that another user copied or shared outside WIK remains under that person's control. Data processed independently by an app store, authentication provider or payment provider is subject to that provider's own deletion process and legal obligations.
11. Children's privacy
WIK is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from a child below the applicable minimum age. If local law requires a higher age or parental authorization, that requirement applies. If you believe a child provided personal data contrary to this Policy, contact contact@wiklearn.com so we can review and take appropriate action.
Child sexual abuse and exploitation are strictly prohibited. Reports can be made through WIK's in-app tools or contact@wiklearn.com. Our child-safety standards are available at https://wiklearn.com/child-safety-standards.
12. Third-party services and links
Third-party websites, apps and services have their own privacy practices. This Policy does not apply to information those third parties independently collect or control. Review their policies before providing information to them.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the Service, law or our practices. We will post the updated version and revise the “Last updated” date. If changes materially affect your rights, we will provide additional notice or request consent where required.
14. Contact us
