Delete Your WIK Account

This page explains how to delete some of your WIK data while keeping your account, and how to delete your whole account and the data associated with it.

Delete some of your data and keep your account

You can delete these yourself at any time, in the WIK app or on wiklearn.com:

• Bytes, videos and notes: open the post's menu and select Delete.
• Comments and replies: press and hold your comment in the app, or use its menu on the website, and delete it.
• Messages: press and hold a message and choose Delete for me or Delete for everyone. To empty a whole chat, open the chat's menu and select Clear chat.
• WIK AI chats: open your list of WIK AI chats and delete a chat from its menu.
• Watch history: open History to remove single items, or select Clear all history.
• Recent searches: remove them from the search screen.
• Profile details: edit your profile to change or clear your bio and links.

To ask us to delete any other data while keeping your account, email contact@wiklearn.com from the email address associated with your WIK account. Use the subject “WIK data deletion request”, include your WIK username and say which data you want deleted. We delete it from WIK's active systems within 30 days and reply when it's done. Do not send your password or a one-time verification code by email.

Delete your account in the WIK app

1. Sign in to the WIK app.
2. Open your profile and select Settings.
3. Select Delete Account.
4. Request and enter the verification code sent to your account email.
5. Press and hold the final delete button to confirm.

Request deletion without the app

If you cannot access the app, email contact@wiklearn.com from the email address associated with your WIK account. Use the subject “WIK account deletion request” and include your WIK username, if known. Do not send your password or a one-time verification code by email.

We may request reasonable information to verify that you control the account. If you cannot use the registered email address, explain that in your request so the support team can provide an alternative verification process.

What happens after verification

• Your account becomes inaccessible and your sessions are revoked.
• Your public profile and content are hidden.
• Google and Apple sign-in links and push-notification tokens are removed.
• Your account and associated data are permanently deleted from WIK's active systems within 30 days.
• Protected disaster-recovery backups may take up to 90 days to expire through the normal backup-rotation process.

Existing one-to-one conversations may temporarily identify the deleted participant as “WIK User” with a neutral avatar while deletion is processed. The deleted user's messages and uploaded media are removed from active systems by the permanent deletion deadline.

Limited retention

WIK may retain limited records only when required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, a valid legal hold or another legal obligation. Required records are restricted and retained only for the applicable purpose and period. De-identified information that can no longer reasonably identify you may also be retained.

Subscriptions and third-party accounts

Deleting your WIK account also cancels an active WIK Premium subscription, so it does not renew. Information independently controlled by a payment or sign-in provider is governed by that provider's deletion process.
