Question 1

What is WIK?

Accepted Answer

WIK is a place to learn from people. You can watch videos and short Bytes, read notes and books, follow creators, pick the topics you're into, and save what you want to come back to. You can also post your own content, message other learners, and plan your study with the Planner and WIK AI.

Question 2

Is WIK free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Signing up and using WIK is free. A paid plan is optional: it adds more books, offline downloads and a higher daily WIK AI limit. Some books are sold on their own.

Question 3

How do I create an account?

Accepted Answer

On the sign-up page, enter your name, email and a password with at least 8 characters, including an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a number. Agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and click Create account, then enter the 6-digit code we email you. Or click Continue with Google to sign up with your Google account. You need to be at least 13 to use WIK.

Question 4

I didn't get my code. What should I do?

Accepted Answer

Check your spam or junk folder first. If it still hasn't arrived after a minute, click Resend code to get a new one.

Question 5

Where do I find Settings?

Accepted Answer

At the bottom of the left sidebar, click the three dots next to your name, then Settings. If the sidebar only shows your photo, click your photo instead. On a phone, tap your profile photo at the top of the screen, then Settings & Privacy.

Question 6

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

Accepted Answer

On the login page, click Forgot password? and enter your email. We'll send you a 6-digit code. Enter it, choose a new password and click Reset password. For your security, you'll also be signed out on your other devices.

Question 7

How do I change my password?

Accepted Answer

Go to Settings > Password, enter your current password, then your new password twice, and click Change password. This signs you out everywhere, so log in again with your new password. If you signed up with Google and never set a password, click Forgot password? on the same page to set one by email.

Question 8

How do I change my email address?

Accepted Answer

Go to Settings > Edit profile and click Change next to your email (on a phone, tap Email). Enter your current password and your new address, then the 6-digit code we send to the new address. We'll also let your old address know about the change. If you signed up with Google, set a password first (see How do I change my password?).

Question 9

How do I log out of all my devices?

Accepted Answer

Go to Settings, click Log out of all devices and confirm. You're logged out here straight away, and on your other devices shortly after.

Question 10

How do I edit my profile?

Accepted Answer

Go to Settings > Edit profile to change your photo, name, username, bio and links. To change your cover, open your profile and click Change cover at the top. On a phone, tap the camera on your cover. Your location can only be changed in the WIK app.

Question 11

How do I delete my account?

Accepted Answer

Go to Settings > Delete account and click Send confirmation code. Enter the code from your email, click Delete my account and confirm. You're logged out everywhere, your profile and posts are taken down, and any paid plan is cancelled. Your data is permanently deleted within 30 days, and from our backups within 90. This can't be undone.

Question 12

How do I post?

Accepted Answer

Click Create in the sidebar (on a phone, tap the + at the bottom of the screen) and choose Note, Video or Byte. A Byte is a short video of up to 3 minutes, a video can be longer, and a note is images with text. Add a caption or title and a category, then publish. Videos take a little while to process after you upload them, and we'll notify you when they're ready.

Question 13

Why does my post say Under review?

Accepted Answer

New posts are reviewed before other people can see them. You can see yours straight away, marked Under review, and it appears for everyone once it's approved.

Question 14

How do I edit or delete a post?

Accepted Answer

Open the post's three-dot menu and choose Edit or Delete. When editing, you can change the text, category, tags and thumbnail, but not the video itself or a note's images. An edited post may be reviewed again.

Question 15

How do I choose what I see?

Accepted Answer

Pick the topics you care about in Settings > Interests. On posts in your Home feed and in Bytes, the three-dot menu has Show more like this, Not interested and Don't show from this author.

Question 16

How do books work?

Accepted Answer

Books open in WIK's reader, which saves your place as you go. Some books are free, some come with the paid plan, and some are sold on their own: once you buy one, it's yours to keep. The button on each book's page shows how you can read it.

Question 17

How do I save posts?

Accepted Answer

Click Save on a Byte, video or note. You'll find everything you've saved under Saved in the sidebar (on a phone, tap your profile photo, then Saved), and you can make libraries there to organize it. Your saves are private.

Question 18

Who can message me?

Accepted Answer

Anyone on WIK can message you unless one of you has blocked the other. If you don't follow someone, their first message goes to your message requests, where you can accept or delete it.

Question 19

How do calls work?

Accepted Answer

You can call people you follow who also follow you, unless they've muted your calls. Open your chat with them and click the phone icon at the top. Calls start as voice calls, and you can turn on video during the call. On the website, calls only ring while WIK is open in a browser tab.

Question 20

What is the Planner?

Accepted Answer

The Planner helps you organize your study. Add tasks with a date, time and reminder, or set a goal with a deadline and let WIK AI plan study sessions for it. You'll find it under Planner in the sidebar (on a phone, tap your profile photo, then Planner).

Question 21

What is WIK AI?

Accepted Answer

WIK AI is your study helper. Ask it to explain a topic, help you work through a problem or plan your study, and it can add tasks and goals to your Planner. There's a daily limit, and the paid plan gives you a higher one. Open it with Ask WIK AI in the sidebar. On a phone, tap your profile photo and open it from the menu.

Question 22

Question 28

Why was my post hidden or removed?

Accepted Answer

Posts that break our rules can be hidden or removed. If yours is hidden and you think that's a mistake, open its three-dot menu and choose Appeal review. You can track your appeal in Settings > Your appeals. Repeated violations can stop you from posting for a while or get your account suspended.
